Solution Architect and Builder of Bridges between Ideas and Execution

I help organisations turn complex ideas into clear architectures, living documentation, and systems that actually get built.

About Jouni

I started in software development in the nineties and have grown through many roles from developer to CTO, founder, and principal architect. Over the years I have worked on web systems, data platforms, AI supported services, and large transformation projects. I enjoy solving complex problems in anything related to software development. My way of working is systematic. I map the situation, define the context and constraints, and then design architectures and workflows that real teams can follow. I am also clearly neurodivergent. ADHD, strong pattern recognition, and a very active inner world are part of who I am. I treat these as tools. They allow me to see connections and whole systems that are not always visible on the surface. At the same time I am very aware of emotional load, both my own and in teams, and I design processes that reduce stress instead of increasing it. My long term focus is SpeChops. It is a platform that supports what I call gain of knowledge. It takes raw data and ideas and helps people refine them into structured knowledge, specifications, and decisions. The goal is simple. Better communication, less confusion, and faster high quality execution.

What I do

I work in three main areas.

Solution Architecture

I design end to end architectures for digital services. This includes domain modelling, integration patterns, data flows, and quality attributes like security, resilience, and scalability. I prefer architectures that are understandable and maintainable for real teams, not only beautiful on diagrams.

AI and Knowledge Systems

I build systems where AI supports humans in documentation, decision making, and quality assurance. This includes DIKW based models, ontologies, real time collaboration, and background agents that keep documentation and plans up to date.

Strategy and Communication

I support organisations in turning strategy into executable roadmaps. This covers defining phases, timelines, responsibilities, risk views, and communication structures that keep stakeholders aligned. I translate between business, technical, and human perspectives.

Skills and strengths

Core areas: Solution and Software Architecture

Solution and Software Architecture, Data and information modelling, AI assisted documentation and workflows, Strategy and roadmap design, System integration and API design.

Ways of thinking: Systems thinking

Systems thinking and big picture mapping, Decision frameworks and risk analysis, DIKW and ontology based knowledge structures, Human centric UX in complex tools, Calm communication in high complexity environments.

Personal strengths: Pattern recognition

I see patterns and connections in complex situations, I can explain technical concepts in clear language, I care about psychological load and communication quality, I am very persistent when I commit to a vision, I learn new technologies and domains quickly.

Experience in short

I have worked in software development and architecture for about thirty years. My roles have moved from hands on development to leading architecture and strategy. Example role types: Developer and technical lead in software projects, Architect and CTO in startups, Principal Solution Architect and advisor in larger organisations, Founder of OverscaleSolutions and creator of SpeChops. This mix gives me a practical view from code and data up to board level discussions. I know how decisions made in a meeting room feel later in the daily work of developers and analysts. You can request a detailed CV with timelines and technologies if needed.

SpeChops – Bridging the chasm between ideas and execution

SpeChops is my main long term project. It is an AI supported environment that helps professionals move from scattered ideas and information to clear, shared, and testable specifications. SpeChops combines:

The goal is simple to state and hard to do. Normal professionals should be able to open a project and quickly reach a shared understanding, see what is missing, and generate high quality documents such as funding applications, tenders, and technical specifications with help from AI. SpeChops is not a generic note tool. It is specialised for gain of knowledge and transparent execution in environments where mistakes are costly.

How I work with teams

My style is calm, structured, and direct.

  1. Clarify the situation: I start by mapping goals, constraints, risks, and existing systems. I prefer visual models and simple language, so everyone around the table understands the same picture.
  2. Design small safe steps: I break down large visions into small steps that still respect the long term architecture. I search for early proof points that build trust and learning without locking the system into bad choices.
  3. Communicate clearly: I translate architecture decisions into language that fits each audience, from developers to executives. I focus on what changes and why, and what the impact is on daily work.
  4. Protect human bandwidth: I care about cognitive load. I prefer processes and tools that reduce context switching and repeated communication. This is part of why I build systems like SpeChops in the first place.

Personal side

I am a classic nerd with a strong imagination and a deep interest in science, philosophy, and human behaviour. I enjoy thinking about decision models, physics thought experiments, and new ways to combine AI with human creativity. I am also open about my neurodivergence and history. ADHD, strong sensory sensitivity, and past struggles have shaped how I see the world. Instead of hiding this, I treat it as a source of empathy and design. Many people in complex environments feel overwhelmed. I understand that feeling and I try to design systems and communication that make life easier, not harder. When I am not working, I often explore ideas, read, or walk outside to reset my mind. My projects are long term. I am not interested in quick hype. I want to build things that still make sense many years from now.
